SA: Palestinian man released from detention may go home in days

A Palestinian man who was found to be unlawfully detained in the Woomera centre couldbe heading home to Israel soon.

Lawyers for AKRAM AL MASRI say he's in the same position as two other Palestinianswhose cases began today in the Federal Court.

NAJI SHATAT and MUFEED MUGHANAM claim they have been refused permission to return home.

Their hearings were adjourned after a federal government representative told the courtnew information suggests their removal from Australia is imminent.

The men are expected to return to Israel within days.

Woomera Lawyers Group member JEREMY MOORE says if this happens, then Mr AL MASRI willalso be returned because he's in the same position.
