Fed: Hanson's jail sentence shocked me - Dems leader
Australian Democrats Leader ANDREW BARTLETT says he's shocked at One Nation founderPAULINE HANSON'S prison sentence.
But he says that's what can happen if people don't keep their wits about them.
The former federal MP and her co-accused, former One Nation director DAVID ETTRIDGE,were each sentenced yesterday to three years' jail for fraudulently registering PAULINEHANSON'S One Nation in Queensland.
Senator BARTLETT says judging by how things have gone for Ms HANSON in recent years, other people may have led her into her situation.
He says the sentence shows how quickly things can turn around in politics.
But he says Ms HANSON's departure from the scene will have little political impacton One Nation or the Democrats.
