Fed: Alice attracts more than two million viewers
SYDNEY, Aug 2 AAP - The Nine Network has claimed yet another ratings victory with the
desert adventure, The Alice, attracting more than two million viewers last night.
The broadcaster said the audience peaked at 2045 AEST with 2,056,525 tuning into the
drama - making it the most watched TV feature movie of 2004.
The program was seen by an average of 1,807,704 viewers, beating Shrek which was seen
by 1.67 million people earlier this year.
However, the most watched program of the evening was Ten's Australian Idol audition
show which attracted an average of 1,843,806 viewers.
Set in central Australia, The Alice telemovie featured an all-star cast, including
former All Saints actor Erik Thomson and Always Greener's Caitlin McDougall along with
McLeod's Daughters' Jessica Napier.
"The Alice, an enchanting date with destiny, had great planetary forces at work as
action and adventure collided with magic and romance under a total eclipse of the sun,"
Nine said in a statement.
