Fed: Vanstone confident she can stay on as minister
Immigration Minister AMANDA VANSTONE's confident she'll keep her job .. despite speculation
about her future.
Speculation about Senator VANSTONE'S future intensified today with The Australian newspaper
reporting some colleagues are conducting a concerted campaign to have her resign .. be
demoted .. or even sacked to make room for new talent.
It follows speculation JOHN HOWARD will reshape his team before Christmas .. in the
wake of the Labor leadership change.
Senator VANSTONE .. Australia's longest-serving female cabinet minister .. says she's
not worried by the report.
Meanwhile .. Senator VANSTONE has defended JULIA GILLARD .. who's been criticised in
the media over her choice of clothing and hairstyle.
She's told those in the media who want to rave on about what her hair looks like to
get over it .. and concentrate on whether she has any substance .. if she's a decent person
.. and has any brains.
She says the appearance police have been after her for years .. so she'd be the last
person to get stuck into Ms GILLARD because she's got a different hairdo.
